Live like a King…

Ever wanted to live like a King or Queen?  Well now you can…

Invite your colleagues, friends and family to enjoy a uniquely Scottish experience at Dundas where you can enjoy playing “Host” in your private five-star Castle.

Dundas Castle, a five-star exclusive use venue, is also the home of Sir Jack Stewart-Clark and his wife Lady Lydia, so you really will enjoy luxurious splendour in the warmth and comfort of an opulent family home. Nestled deep in the heart of 1000 acres of beautiful countryside, yet only 20 minutes from the bustling city and eight miles from Edinburgh airport, Dundas is known as the Secret Castle; some of the locals are even unaware it is there!

Uniquely combining the grandeur of a castle with the warmth of a family home, Dundas Castle provides exceptional service and facilities that will leave a lasting impression on all of your guests.

The ‘Auld Keep’ was built in 1416 and provides the perfect location for a medieval banquet for up to 24 people in the Stag Chamber.  Imagine entering a magical and atmospheric room with original three-foot thick walls, by a fairytale spiral staircase; a banquet in the Auld Keep really will make you feel like you have been transported back to medieval times, ensuring a highly-memorable and totally unique experience.

The main Castle has three reception rooms, each with its own character, providing a different atmosphere for you to enjoy.  From the silk walls and crackling log fire in the Library, to the openness of the Drawing Room, and the Billiards Room full of special memories and history, in the form of photos and antiques enjoyed by the family over the years, each guest enjoys their own magical experience.  The Croquet Room, with its rich art work and breathtaking views across the estate is also perfect for a dinner up to 60.

Dine like a King…

Trevor Garden, the Head Chef, works hard with his team from Prestige Scotland to bring you extensive menus, featuring fresh, Scottish ingredients, with accompanying wine lists to suit all tastes.  Trevor is as passionate about the presentation of each dish as he is about the taste, so your dining experience is guaranteed to be imaginative and inspired.

Sleep like a King…

There is no better end to a day at Dundas than spending the night in one of the fourteen beautiful bedrooms.  Each room is individually decorated in a timelessly elegant style, featuring antique furniture, original paintings and beautiful fabrics. Designed by Lady Lydia, an accomplished interior designer, the rooms contain silverware and personal items that date as far back as 1901.  Many of the bathrooms still have the original bathtubs that fill up in 30 seconds!  The bedrooms are located throughout the house and offer a variety of views from the charming courtyard to the immaculate lawns of the estate.

Play like a King…

Surrounded by 1000 acres, there is a host of wonderful outdoor facilities and country pursuits on offer. The Castle’s very own nine-hole golf course is perfect for a warm up round before playing on one of the associated Championship Courses, located nearby.  Alternatively, there are many other traditional pursuits available, including a 4x4 course, clay-pigeon arena and quad biking. The lawns in front of the castle are perfect for hosting many other activities such as falconry and archery, while Woodlands Walks and the Rose Garden provide the perfect backdrop to breathe in the pure Scottish, fresh air.  Dundas Castle really does encapsulate “getting away from it all” and you may never wish to leave…
